Here at the Cornaro Institute we are fortunate to have in residence one of the world's leading Arabeque painters. For over twenty years Peter Bird has been at the forefront of the revival of interest in Arabesque, helping it to become one of the most popular forms of amateur and professional craft in Britain and North America today. 

 

Using Arabesque techniques you can decorate practically anything!  Ceramics, metalwork, shoes, bags and clothing, furniture - in fact the list is endless.

 

Whatever you decorate it will be unique and personal to you. For children and students it will help improve their art portfolios, but many people learn Arabesque simply for pleasure.
