Entry Requirements for

Foundation Course

in Art and Design

  • A fully accredited British university-entrance qualification

  • Study in Larnaca or Limassol

Foundation is an entry level qualification, designed to help you gain entry to a BA degree course in art or design or architecture at a university or art college. This means we are not necessarily looking for people with the best school grades or exam results. The main thing we are looking for is enthusiasm for art and design.

The question is how do you prove this?

The best way to prove it is through doing things. A lot of applicants say to us they love art and design. Then you look at what they have done and you discover they never draw or paint, they never visit art galleries or museums and they never read about art and design.

We do not want people like that! We want people like you! We want people who love to draw, paint and make things. We want people who cannot help going into an art gallery or museum when they see one. And we want people who always read the art review pages of newspapers (whether online or on paper).

In other words, you prove you are serious about becoming an artist, designer or architect by doing what real artists, designers and architects do.

When you apply we will first ask you to give your basic information on the application form. We will then contact you and ask you to show us some of the work you have made, and tell us about your interests in art, or design, or architecture.

Often we ask applicants to tell us about an exhibition or museum they have visited recently. This is not an easy course to get into so you need to work hard at your application.

You will also need to speak English well enough to follow the course. Again we do not specify particular grades, but if you plan to continue your studies in the UK or elsewhere, most universities ask for an IELTS score of 6.0 or higher, or grade C in English at GCSE or iGCSE.

If you do not have an English qualification and you need one, then we can help you study for one while you are on the Foundation Course.

Application Deadlines 2014 Entry

The deadline for applications to start in September 2014 is: 31 August 2014 for European Union, EEA and Swiss citizens; 30 April 2014 for all other nationalities.

Early applications are advised as your chances of securing a place on the course is more likely the earlier you apply.
